Barack Obama and Mitt Romney cancelled their election work. Now they are passing hard time in sandy affected areas. 

A disaster assessment company announced on Tuesday that Sandy may have caused up to $15-18 billion in insured losses.

Barack Obama has declared a major disaster in New York State after storm Sandy damaged into the US East Coast, causing flooding and cutting power to millions.

Recording 13ft tidal surge sent sea-water cascading into big parts of New York City subway system.

The deaths in New York City, besides were news in New York state, Maryland, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Toronto police as well recorded one death - a lady hit by flying debris. Sandy killed 69 people in the Caribbean previous week.

USA officials said that about 8.8 million households starting Maine to Michigan to North Carolina, representing on 7% of the country’s people, lacked power Tuesday. Electricity remained out for about 2.4 million households in New York, 2.6 million in New Jersey and 714,000 in Connecticut.

US President Barack Obama issued federal emergency decrees for New Jersey and New York, declaring that major disasters among sandy affected area in the both states.

Sandy storm killed at least 108 people, including about 87 people in New York City, and insurance companies started to tally billions of dollars in losses.
